Isle of Wight Day Trip Bonanza
A day trip to the Isle of Wight, was it possible? would you get enough time? well I thought I’d give it a go and to my surprise I did manage to get to see some good stuff on the island! trains, boats, worn-out tube trains, steam trains & buses! my first port of call was back to the age of steam trains and a ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway beautiful preserved and manned by authentic staff this was pretty awesome! (watch the video I made and you can almost get the smell of steam wafting up your nostrils), I was able to lean out the window and get soot in my eye (ouch!) just like the days gone by…
After that it was a long but scenic 1 hour bus journey from the islands capital and bus connection Newport to The Needles situated in the South Western tip of the island. The sun was out and glimmering over the vast sea and the craggy rock face of which sat the famous light house at the furthest point, I caught the bus back to Ryde (the scenic bus journey back and the Needles can be seen towards the end of my video) and then I got a free upgrade back to Portsmouth harbor on a catamaran instead of the ferry ~ very cool end to a top day!
As well as doing some photography I did experiment with a bit of filming using my camera and a GoPro Hero 4, you can watch the little edit I put together on this page and while your at it why not subscribe to my new YouTube Channel ‘CarnabyClips’ over here where I aim to put up a new video every once in a while!
